Advantages/Properties

The best thermal resistance

Not only is the low thermal conductivity coefficient special about ISOCELL. It is a known fact that every type of insulation is only ever as good as its weakest point. With ISOCELL cellulose insulation even the smallest gaps and cracks are filled. The result is insulating matting without voids, free from thermal bridges.

Excellent protection from heat

The high storage capacity of ISOCELL cellulose insulation results in a considerably delayed transfer of radiated warmth from the sun. Even attic rooms remain cool until far into the night and you can sleep peacefully.

It is also possible to calculate thermal protection in a similar way as the U-value for thermal insulation. In this case one speaks of phase lag.

The phase lag PHI is the time, in hours, that it takes for a thermal wave to travel from the outside of a building to the inside.

The greater the phase lag, the longer the reheating of the inside of the building is delayed!

Regulation of moisture

ISOCELL cellulose insulation is able to collect moisture in the fibres, without loss of the insulation value, and to emit it again evenly. This special abiolity to store moisture has a regulating effect on the room climate.

When used in refurbishing or flat-roof systems without back ventilation, ISOCELL acts as moisture buffer from the point of view of construction physics.

In addition, compared with conventional fibre matting the air and wind tightness is considerably better, particularly in wooden constructions. All things considered, the natural properties of cellulose fibre in connection with ISOCELL's blow-in technology meet the highest demands on room climate and energy savings.

Maximum sound-proofing

Cellulose insulation installed compactly and joint-free also has great advantages on this sector. In tests carried out for comparison, mid-walls measured up to 7 dB more acoustic insulation compared with conventional fibre mats.

Maximum resistance to fire

ISOCELL cellulose insulation repeatedly holds its own with regard to fire resistance in comparison with conventional insulation materials. This has been proved in tests carried out on building elements from F30 to F90.

With EN classification B-s2-d0 ISOCELL cellulose insulation achieves one of the best possible ratings for flammable insulation materials.

Fire tests, carried out at the Institut für Brandschutztechnik und SicherheitsforschungGmbh (Institute for Fire Technology and Research on Safety) in Linz, as well as fire test carried out at our company's own facility, give the same results:

ISOCELL cellulose insulation does not burn. Only the outer layer is charred.

For the sake of the environment

It is generally know that good insulation not only saves energy but is not harmful to the environment, either. Even in the production phase ISOCELL cellulose insulation is unrivalled from an ecological point of view:

Compared with other insulation materials, such as polystrene or glass fibre, the primary energy needed for production is much lower.

In comparison with polystrene it is only one sixth and one third compared with glass fibre.
